A classy four piece who have worked for almost a decade to hone their sound, The Mexanines are a band very much on the cusp. Having supported the likes of Pigeon Detectives and Embrace, the time is right for this band to break big, and with a slew of new singles on the way, the time could be now.
The first of the upcoming singles is ‘Rocket’, the anthemic track above, officially released this coming September.
The track above, ‘North Sea Fret’, is a fantastic introduction to the sounds and styles of highly unusual duo MetaQuorum. A pair of veteran musicians with a ‘sense of mischief’, their new album ‘Midnight Sun’ is out now.
Usually instrumental, their music blasts down barriers between genres and styles, moulding plentiful ideas into their sprawling tracks. The musicianship and skill in constructing these compositions must be huge, and their style certainly makes for an intriguing alternative to the pop music we’re spoon-fed on the radio.
